Nuaire’s Ecostrat protects liquid investments!
Britain’s oldest wine and spirit merchant, Berry Bros. & Rudd, has benefitted from Nuaire’s state of the art destratification technology which ensures they are able to deliver a premium service to their customers.The multi channel specialist wine merchant offers a broad range of services to make a customers vinous experience pleasurable, from retail outlets to online and telephone ordering (delivery is worldwide), temperature controlled wine storage and special tastings and dinners.
Wine storage is offered to clients in a secure, temperature-controlled cellar, recorded under customer’s names and separate from the company’s own stock.
Wine should be “cellared” in specific conditions: on its side, lying down, in the dark and away from vibrations. A constant temperature of between 8–16°C is essential, any rapid changes could spoil the wine, a situation to avoid when it belongs to some else!
The wine is stored in a former warehouse which was converted internally to meet the necessary “cellared” conditions.
Additional racking was fitted and heating and cooling air handling plant was installed at one end of the building. Fourteen Ecostrat fans from Nuaire were positioned at the other end of the building, on the wall, each fan projecting air “between the rows of racking” towards the air handling unit with a specific requirement to keep the product temperature continually within 2°C of 12°C.
Electronic voltage controllers were used to govern the speed of the Ecostrat fans, which were linked to a sophisticated Building Management System to maintain the critical temperature requirement. As a result temperatures have been successfully controlled to within 1°C throughout the entire space.
Due to visits by potential “investors” it was essential to maintain a very high standard of visual appearance. The high quality appearance of the Ecostrat fans fitted in comfortably with this requirement.
The contractor for the warehouse conversion, T-Squared P2 Ltd, researched various types of distribution and destratification systems before deciding on Nuaire’s Ecostrat fans. They have been so impressed with the results that they have gone on to submit further proposals using Ecostrat.
Ecostrat is the only destratification fan which can equalise temperatures to within 1°C. In addition the low level, simple installation and competitive cost compared to ducted systems means that very often Nuaire’s Ecostrat is the only destratification fan which can meet the specific needs of a project.
