Case Study - Dubai Mall

The Nuaire Group confirmed that they have secured an order worth almost £1 million to provide the ventilation equipment for the largest shopping mall in the world.

The Burj Dubai development is one of the most prestigious in the world, consisting of 30,000 homes, nine hotels, six acres of parkland, 19 residential towers and the 12ha Burj Dubai lake. It also includes what will be the largest building in the world – The Burj Dubai, which will stand 225 stories high.

The Dubai Mall, part of the Burj Dubai development will eventually cover one square kilometre, the equivalent of 50 international-sized soccer pitches, and consist of around 1,000 shops. When it is completed in 2008 it is expected to receive 35 million visitors in its first year.

Nuaire application engineers worked in partnership with the consultant and the contractor throughout the design phase and were able to deliver a fast response to the many specification changes which such a complex project demands.

This level of responsiveness was possible due to the company’s investment in its own AMCA approved test laboratory as well as their product range of axial fans which are certified to the new EN high-temperature standard.

Another key factor in winning the contract was Nuaire’s proven ability to contribute to the Contractor’s supply chain requirements by managing inventory and delivering on time to a very demanding schedule.

Nuaire are supplying over one thousand fans to the Project which is so large that it is being built as 38 separate buildings. Work started in September 2006 with completion anticipated in March/April 2007.
