Case Study - Sun Seeker Boats
The client had a number of older buildings where various sizes of craft were built, using fibre glass materials. Warm air heaters were used to heat the staff and provide a termperature conducive to correct “curing” of the fibre glass resin mix. To ensure good ventilation of the buildings, large extract systems were in place. The above resulted in varying temperatures throughout the premises, in most cases there being “cold spots” under the fibre glass hulls. The working environment for the operatives was poor, some at low level being cold, those at higher levels being too hot.
The heating consultant contact Nuaire and an air movement system was designed using System 2000 (now known as Ecostrat). In each of three buildings, one being new build, S2K fans were installed along one side of the building and set at an angle to project air towards the roof structure. This arrangement provided air “rotation” throughout the entire space, equalising temperatures from top to bottom to within 1°C.
The client was able to continue use of the original warm air and extract equipment without any alteration, the operatives benefitted from very even air distribution and temperature levels wherever they were working, and as a result, significant fuel-input savings were achieved.
