The Queen's Award For Enterprise: Innovation 2004
Extract from the London Gazette, March 2004
Caerphilly based Nuaire Holdings Ltd wins the Award for its innovative approach to domestic ventilation systems. Nuaire's ventilation systems work on the positive input ventilation principle, drawing air from the roof space and feeding it into the house, so that air is forced out rather than drawn in, as with conventional extractor systems. The company's designs incorporate many energy saving features. A sophisticated control system ensures that when it is cold, air is drawn from immediately below the roof tiles, where there is maximum solar heating. When it is hot, air is drawn from the coolest source. Nuaire's Sunwarm system uses a solar air heating panel and can save over 4000 kilowatt hours of energy per dwelling per year.
